Special Services
Florence School District Two Special Services Department is committed to ensuring that all students with disabilities (ages 3 – 21) receive a free and appropriate public education (FAPE) in accordance with both federal and state regulations as outlined in the Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act of 2004 (IDEA) and the South Carolina State Board Regulation R-43-243.
Teachers and staff provide specialized instruction in order to meet the unique learning needs of individual students. Collaboration with parents or guardians is an essential component to the development of individualized education programs (IEPs) which detail the present levels and goals for a student as well as define the progress monitoring tools used to ensure the student is experiencing academic success.
