Breakfast Reminder
Parents,
This is a reminder that breakfast is available at your child's school daily. Florence School District Two administers The USDA School Breakfast Program in an effort to reduce the risk of hunger and food insecurity in students.
Children who go to school hungry tend to have more challenges in school, including lower academic achievement and a high incidence of absences. The School Breakfast Program has proven to address these issues. Unfortunately, there are far too many children who skip this meal.
Studies have shown that SBP is associated with higher academic performance as well as improved comprehension and problem solving skills. Absences, tardiness, behavioral and emotional problems have been shown to decrease as a result of this program.
Encourage your child to participate and receive the benefits of a healthy start to their day.
