PAMPLICO, S.C. -- Florence County School District 2 has selected Dr. Carol Hill as the Principal of Hannah-Pamplico High School. Recently retired as the Director of Florence County Adult Education, Dr. Hill has an impressive track record and a deep commitment to educational excellence, including significantly increasing the number of Adult Education graduates from 62 in 2019 to 121 in 2023.

Over her thirty-four-year career, Dr. Hill has served in various roles in education, including stints as a high school English teacher, coach, freshman academy coordinator, and principal at South Florence High School. Her leadership skills were particularly evident as the South Florence High School Freshman Academy Coordinator and Principal, where she spearheaded initiatives that significantly improved student outcomes. Under her guidance, freshman promotion rates increased from 76% to over 90%, and the four-year graduation rate rose from 58.1% to over 80%. Dr. Hill also led efforts that decreased the drop-out rate from 5.4% to 1.8%.

A professional development trainer for 16 Habits of Mind, Cognitive Coaching, and Adaptive Schools, Dr. Hill has refined her skills as a facilitator and presenter. Her exceptional leadership and ability to create a positive learning environment will benefit students and staff at Hannah-Pamplico High School.

Dr. Hill holds a Doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of South Carolina, a Master's degree in Educational Leadership from Winthrop University, and a Master's in Professional Communication from Clemson University. She graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor's in English from Carroll University in Waukesha, WI.
